About
Fascinated by the intentionality created by putting pen to paper, Love Letters Mailbox began. Hidden between the branches of Hallett Park in Belleair, Daynie Rain placed what would be the first of many "Love Letters Mailbox" installations.
With no expectations for the project other than to provide a place for herself and others to express what might otherwise go unsaid, she filled the little black mailbox with notebooks, pens, and an instructions page encouraging visitors to write "whatever they needed to". Within the first month of the mailbox being in place, strangers had already begun opening up in the most beautiful ways. Letters to significant others, to friends, to family, to love ones who had passed- all began filling the pages of the first little blue notebook. After realizing how many people had been touched by the project, she decided to expand throughout the county and beyond. There are currently nearly a dozen locations across Florida and the project has since been featured in the Tampa Bay Times, Bay News 9, ABC Action News, Channel 8 News, and more.
